There are many sources to find the off-label use of a certain drug. They are such as AHFS, USP_1, Micromedex and Drug information handbook. The e-CPS has evidence based monographs covering more than 300 drugs along with guidance on off-label uses.

Therefore, If you have to choose, it will be the electronic version of CPS or RXTX.

Any amendments of laws especially CDSA due to COVID are not considered for PEBC exams. Besides, you shouldn’t consider COVID disease in any cases or questions of your exam.

Say an surgery X is by 1000 dollars in the public insurance plan. You did this surgery in a hospital and the hospital raise the bill by 1100 dollars. Now this billing is called Extra-billing.

If the patient to do this surgery any amount of money such as any money to get this service earlier, this is called user fees ( any extra money rather than extra-billing).

By your professional judgment which should always go with best patient interest, you can dispense one patch and document what has been happened. It will be better to advise the nurse to fix the patch with an adhesive tape to avoid future fall down of it.

A big rule: if the patch looses, adhere it with adhesive tape but if it falls down, do not reapply it and dispose it safely.

    The answer is C

Gathering a medical information can be done by the technician and then the pharmacist can use this information and take his medical decision.

Osteoarthritis is a disease of joint damage, mainly due to repetitive use and advanced age. Measuring the blood calcium level is not an indicator of anything related to this disease.

Even in osteoporosis, no need to measure calcium level; calcium blood level indicates only its level in blood not in the bones. We measure the bone density not Ca level in blood.

Low blood level of vitamin D may be a risk factor of osteoporosis. We can measure it initially but no need to measure it periodically unless it is low initially and we measure it to see if it is corrected or not. The majority of Canadian people have vitamin D deficiency and we ,as healthcare practitioners, should stress on taking vitamin D and calcium from diet first before giving taking them in the form of tablets.

Do you consider this as a medical advice?

We have some herbal cough syrup considered as OTC containing herbals, right?

In my question ,I say recommend for a patient the same drug but sugar free type.

He can do that while the assistant can not do.

Any therapeutic issue is for the pharmacist. Technician can read the information of any product but he can not say this drug is suitable for this specific patient. This is a therapeutic decision which is reserved for the pharmacist
